Explore the ArtGuitar “Artist Series”

Artist Call • Limited GS Mini Series • Curated Selections

Put your art on a guitar people will actually play.

ArtGuitar® creates playable, collectible instruments by integrating artwork directly onto guitars using our patented application process. We’re now opening a limited artist opportunity for getting artwork onto a Taylor GS Mini guitar. These are series—built guitars meant to be played, photographed, toured, and collected.

This isn’t a sticker and it’s not “merch.” It’s a premium instrument where the artwork is treated with the same respect as the build. Our goal is simple: make the art unforgettable—and make the guitar irresistible to play.

We create custom guitars based on a curated, limited selection: only unique number of artists per release, documented and credited. If your work has a strong voice, this is a chance to place it on an iconic object that travels through culture.

Why this matters (and why it’s different)

A guitar is one of the most photographed objects in music culture. It shows up in studios, onstage, in tour vans, and in people’s hands. When your artwork lives on a guitar top, it doesn’t sit still—it moves.

What artists get out of it

  • A curated selection (limited slots per selection).
  • A premium physical edition built around your artwork.
  • Professional content (photo/video) you can use in your portfolio and press.
  • Artist attribution carried with the instrument and the campaign.
  • Cultural placement—players, collectors, and fans encountering your work in the wild.

The promise

We treat the artwork like the centerpiece, not decoration. That means:

  • faithful translation (no “AI remix” of your work),
  • clean design boundaries and safe zones,
  • quality control at every step,
  • highest resolution,

This creates a finished instrument that feels desirable and collectible.

1

Submit work that feels like a “cover art moment”

Pieces with a strong read, clear style, and detail that rewards a closer look tend to win.

2

We curate our selection on purpose

Limited slots are intentional—scarcity keeps the series meaningful and collectible.

3

We work with you to build the story around your art

Photography, video, and a clean narrative that makes the edition feel legitimate and desirable.

What we’re looking for

If people can recognize your work without seeing your name, you’re already in the right territory. We love bold visual language, confident composition, and pieces that feel alive on an object.

Great fits

  • Abstract / graphic / surreal / collage / illustrative work with a distinct voice.
  • Pieces that read well from 6–10 feet away (stage distance) and up close (collector detail).
  • Work that can be delivered cleanly as high-res digital files.
  • Artists who care about craft and love the idea of their work being used — not just displayed.

Good to know

  • You don’t need an existing “music audience” — strong work wins.
  • We can curate themed releases or mixed designs depending on our selection.
  • If selected, you’ll receive clear submission specs in a template: required size, safe zones, timeline, and delivery format.
  • We keep everything respectful: transparent terms, accurate artist credit, no remixing.

    Artist FAQ

A few common questions artists ask before submitting art. If something isn’t answered here, you’re always welcome to reach out directly.

Do I keep credit for my artwork?

Yes. Artist attribution stays attached to the instrument and the story around it. ArtGuitar will assume rights for reproducing but the credit is still the Artists. We treat credit as essential, not optional.

Is this a commission, license, or buyout?

This opportunity is a cooperative agreement with a purchase from the artist at the beginning of the project. After the initial release, Artists will receive a royalties for each sale. If selected, you’ll receive clear terms in writing before anything moves forward.

Do I need to create new artwork specifically for this?

Not always. Artists sometimes start with existing work that translates well to a guitar top. Some releases may invite new work around a theme, but that’s optional.

Will my artwork be altered or remixed?

No. We don’t remix or reinterpret your work. Any adjustments are strictly technical (layout, color profiling, safe zones) to ensure faithful translation.

    How selective is the process?

Very. We intentionally keep each release limited so the series stays meaningful and collectible. If you’re not selected, we will add you to the waitlist for future releases.
